It is an elective course within the Womanist Leadership Institute, a partnership between the Leadership Institute and the Katie Geneva Cannon Center for Womanist Leadership. This course in Presbyterian polity, program, and mission, led by Rev. Jenna Campbell and Rev. Joyce Mackichan Walker, will integrate the study of the Presbyterian Constitution (Book of Confessions and Book of Order) and Program and Mission of the PC(USA) into the context of the educator. This is an online course, with both synchronous and asynchronous assignments. It is designed to meet the requirements for Christian Educator Certification in the PC(USA).

On April 18th, the Board of Pensions will be offering their Third Act Seminar and Luncheon on the Richmond Campus of Union Presbyterian Seminary. It is a seminar for retired plan members, spouses, surviving spouses, and guests.

Starting Monday, April 8th we will be reading Preaching the Headlines, by Lisa Thompson.
The book club will be led by Rev. Leah Jordan. Meetings will be held via Zoom.
This book club, presented in partnership with the Katie Geneva Cannon Center for Womanist Leadership, is for everyone interested in reflecting theologically on this relationship between Scripture and the world around us.
On April 9th our Sprunt Lecture Book Club begins. We will be reading Sprunt Lecturer, Dr John J. Thatamanil’s text, Circling the Elephant: A Comparative Theology of Religious Diversity.
We will meet on Tuesdays, April 9th-April 30th from 6-8pm Eastern.

On April 16th, our Pathways Course, Mission and Evangelism begins.
This is a Phase 1 course, led by Rev. Dr. Aram Feinberg.
This course will meet: Tuesdays, April 16th- May 21st, 2024, 7-9pm Eastern.

This five-week course led by, Dr. John Carroll, Harriet Robertson Fitts Memorial Professor of New Testament, on the parables of Jesus will explore questions such as:
What is a parable?
What are the distinctive themes in Jesus’ parables?
How does each Gospel focus central themes in its narrative about Jesus through His telling of parables?
What do the parables have to say to twenty-first-century listeners?
This course invites participants to deepen their understanding of the Gospels, and offers fresh insight into the mission and message of Jesus—for both the first and the twenty-first century.
