On Ash Wednesday/Valentine’s Day, the Leadership Institute recorded a conversation aimed to demystify death and provide a guide for those journeying through end-of-life care.
In this webinar, you will:
Gain a deeper understanding of death and dying, from a physical, emotional, and spiritual perspective.
Explore the different options available for end-of-life care including hospice, palliative care, and comfort care.
Discover resources and support networks to help you cope with loss and grief.

We are now less than a week away from our Leadership Institute flagship event, the Dawe Lecture. Register for the Dawe Lecture here.
This year our Dawe Lecturer is Dr. Hadia Mubarak.
Dr. Mubarak teaches courses on Islam, comparative scriptures, women and gender in the Muslim world, the history of Islam in America, and religious representation in popular culture, among other courses.
Mubarak completed her Ph.D. in Islamic Studies from Georgetown University, where she specialized in modern and classical Qur’anic exegesis, Islamic feminism, and gender reform in the modern Muslim world.
She currently serves as a scholar-in-residence with the Muslim Community Center of Charlotte (MCC), a Board of Advisors member with the Carleton Center for the Study of Islam (CCSI), and a scholar with the Institute for Social Policy and Understanding (ISPU).
The Dawe Lecture series is funded through the Donald and Nancy Dawe Fund for Emotional and Ethical Growth. The Fund was established thanks to a generous gift from Dr. Coleman Longan honoring Donald and Nancy Dawe. Dr. Dawe was professor emeritus of Union Presbyterian Seminary until his death in 2012. The lecture series, which is held annually at Union Presbyterian Seminary, pays tribute to Dr. and Mrs. Dawe and promotes ethical and religious understanding. Because of Professor Dawe’s long-standing interest and commitments in the area of multi-religious and multi-cultural understanding and interfaith dialogue, this lecture series seeks to contribute a deepened awareness and insight in these areas of intellectual and especially practical religious concerns.
The Dawe Lecture is on Thursday, March 14th at 6:30pm on our Richmond Campus.
This event is free, open to the public and you can attend in person or virtually by registering here.
